Van Sales Assistant / Relief Salesman (Manufacturing Sector)

About the role

A client is looking for a Van Sales Assistant / Relief Salesman to sell and distribute the company's products to customers along assigned routes. The role covers stock management, merchandising, accurate sales and payment processing, and strong customer relationships, with support in both the salesman and van sales assistant positions as required.

Key responsibilities

• Sell and distribute products along the assigned route and service customers on schedule in a professional way.
• Drive the company vehicle safely and hold a valid driver's licence.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate products and minimise damage, overstocking and shortages.
• Set up and maintain attractive displays and merchandising, and secure suitable display locations.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and implement promotional activities with proper materials.
• Process orders, invoices, receipts, cash and credit transactions accurately; account for cash, cheques, stock and assets; reconcile returned, damaged and unsold stock daily.
• Supervise the Van Sales Assistant and support both roles as needed.
• Monitor competitors' activity, keep accurate sales records and follow company policies on stock, cash and carton recycling.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sales, van sales, merchandising or distribution is an asset.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Willingness to perform both salesman and van sales assistant duties as required.
