Temporary Transportation and Logistics Operations Analyst

About the role

Gildan, a manufacturer of everyday basic apparel, is hiring a Temporary Transportation and Logistics Operations Analyst for its Printwear Division. The role covers container tracking, customs follow-up and shipment updates in the E1 system, and reports directly to the Senior Manager, Transportation and Logistics Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide complete visibility of containers, air shipments and ground transport, tracking them from manufacturing or distribution centre to final destination
• Liaise with Customer Service, Warehousing, Inventory Control, Manufacturing and Customs to resolve transportation issues
• Validate and update booking status of all shipments in the E1 Transportation module, including those handled by the SRL team
• Develop, format and distribute monthly KPIs for freight and freight-related services
• Analyse market rates and negotiate with freight forwarders or contract carriers on new routes
• Maintain updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all markets

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance or a related field
• Two years' experience in a logistics, customs or inventory control position
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Detail-oriented
