Legal Counsel – In‑House Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to provide legal support across our diverse portfolio of businesses. You will ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks while delivering practical commercial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory and operational matters.
• Identify legal risks and propose commercially sound solutions.
• Support corporate governance, statutory compliance and policy implementation.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as supplier, service, licensing and distribution contracts.
• Assist with corporate documents, resolutions and transactional paperwork.
• Manage contract review processes and maintain legal templates.
• Support litigation, claims and dispute resolution in coordination with external counsel.
• Promote legal awareness, ethical conduct and compliance throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• LL.B. or equivalent legal qualification and Legal Education Certificate.
• Admission to the Barbados Bar and eligibility to practise law in Barbados.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in‑house.
• Strong understanding of corporate and commercial law, contract management and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements.
• Commercial awareness and ability to balance legal and business objectives.
