HVAC Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Engineering Maintenance Technician II maintains all buildings and equipment across the property and acts as an active business partner supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission and values. The role covers a wide range of mechanical and building maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman manner.
• Perform assignments as directed by the Director of Engineering.
• Assume the duties of other mechanics when required, including light carpentry, plumbing, grounds maintenance, electrical work, painting, pool and spa maintenance.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on all equipment and repair malfunctioning mechanical devices.
• Respond to room repairs covering carpentry, electrical, plumbing, carpeting, painting and furniture repair or refinishing.
• Maintain pools and spas, take part in facility re-keying as needed and respond to guest calls.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of job-related maintenance experience or engineering experience.
• At least two years of customer service experience.
• Clear communication and the ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Preferred: luxury hotel experience, certification from a technical maintenance trade school, a bachelor's degree.
• Physical requirements: walking and standing for up to 6 hours, lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, pushing and pulling carts and equipment up to 250 lbs occasionally, and the dexterity to operate office equipment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Property-specific software such as HotSOS and energy management systems software.
