Student Support Assistant

About the role

Join the OneSchool Global Barbados campus as a Student Support Assistant, providing individualized academic and behavioral support to a primary‑aged student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. You will work closely with the local teaching team to ensure inclusive instruction and help the student succeed in daily school activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic and behavioral support tailored to the needs of a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Deliver directed studies in English and Math curricula as designed by a certified teacher.
• Collaborate with the campus team to address the student’s needs and promote inclusive learning.
• Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress, activities, and outcomes.

Required profile

• Authorization to work in Barbados.
• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in education, special education or Applied Behavioural Analysis is preferred.
• Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Physical capability to lift and transfer the student as needed.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to the student’s educational and personal development.
