International Consultant – Safe & Inclusive Schools Teacher Training Package

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced international consultant to design, pilot, and finalize a competency‑based teacher training package that strengthens safe and inclusive schools across the Caribbean. The assignment is remote and will run for three months.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a face‑to‑face, competency‑based training programme building on the existing Safe Schools online course.
• Create facilitator guides, participant manuals, assessment tools and other adult‑learning resources.
• Pilot the training with education professionals and incorporate feedback to produce a finalized regional training package.
• Ensure alignment with UNICEF, CDEMA and Ministry of Education standards for school safety and disaster risk reduction.
• Deliver all final deliverables within the three‑month contract period.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree (Master’s or higher) in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, School Safety, Disaster Risk Management or a related field.
• Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in education programme design, curriculum development, or competency‑based training.
• Proven experience in Comprehensive School Safety, Disaster Risk Reduction in Education, Education in Emergencies or related resilience work.
• Demonstrated ability to develop facilitator guides, participant manuals and assessment tools for adult learners.
