International Consultant for Safe Schools Teacher Training Package

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced international consultant to design, pilot, and finalize a competency‑based training package for teachers on safe and inclusive schools. The assignment will build on an existing online course and deliver a face‑to‑face programme that can be used across Caribbean ministries of education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a competency‑based curriculum and training materials, including facilitator guides, participant manuals and assessment tools.
• Pilot the training programme in selected schools and gather feedback for refinement.
• Coordinate with Ministries of Education, CDEMA and other regional partners to ensure alignment with disaster risk reduction and school safety standards.
• Produce a finalized, adaptable training package that can be rolled out regionally.
• Document lessons learned and provide recommendations for future scaling.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree (Master’s or higher) in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, School Safety, Disaster Risk Management or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of progressive experience in education programme design, curriculum development, or competency‑based training.
• Proven experience in Comprehensive School Safety, Disaster Risk Reduction in Education, Education in Emergencies or related areas.
• Experience creating adult‑learning resources such as facilitator guides, participant manuals and assessment tools.
