Retail Store Supervisor

About the role

Walkers World is hiring a full-time Retail Store Supervisor at its Barbados store in Lears Business Park, St. Michael, reporting to the Store Manager. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who enjoys being active on the sales floor, delivering excellent customer experiences and keeping high retail standards. The role works closely with Store Management to oversee daily operations, support the sales team and keep the showroom welcoming, organised and well presented.

Key responsibilities

• Lead from the sales floor during peak hours, giving customers prompt, knowledgeable and attentive service
• Support opening and closing procedures, cash drawer reconciliations, POS management and daily operational checklists
• Guide and coach sales associates, give real-time feedback and help train and onboard new team members
• Keep product displays, stock levels, pricing and tagging aligned with brand standards
• Handle customer inquiries, exchanges and floor issues promptly and professionally
• Assist with receiving, stock replenishment, inventory counts and accurate stock awareness

Required profile

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business Management, Retail Management or a related field, or vocational certificates
• At least 2 years of experience in retail sales, customer service or hospitality, including at least 1 year in a supervisory, team-lead or keyholder role
• Valid Police Certificate of Character and a driver's license
• Able to work weekends, evenings, public holidays and the busy Christmas season; flexible and punctual

Required skills

• Experience with cash procedures, POS systems and store opening/closing
• Confident with mental math and quick calculations (percentages, discounts, subtotals)
• Comfortable learning POS systems, using email and WhatsApp Business and checking digital inventory
• Able to stand and move around the showroom all day, use step ladders safely and lift up to 50-75 lbs
