Finance Officer (Insurance Claims)

About the role

The Finance Officer will support the insurance claims sector of a leading financial services organisation, handling member enquiries, processing applications and ensuring accurate financial record‑keeping. This role combines customer service with core finance functions to maintain smooth operations and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and answer telephone, face‑to‑face and electronic queries from members regarding insurance products, services and charges.
• Process insurance applications, ensuring all information is completed accurately.
• Investigate and resolve routine member issues related to insurance accounts.
• Identify members' insurance needs and cross‑sell appropriate products and services.
• Maintain confidentiality of all member information.
• Contact members with complaints or queries and resolve issues within 24 hours.
• Prepare correspondence and monthly reports concerning insurance accounts.
• Record daily financial transactions, accounts receivable and ensure data accuracy in internal systems.
• Track insurance deposits, payments and prepare regular remittances.
• Liaise with insurance companies to exchange information, remit payments and process refunds.

Required profile

• Qualified to BSc level in Accounting, Finance or a related business discipline.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience in the insurance industry is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with insurance broker software (EPICAssure) – a distinct advantage.
• Accurate data‑entry abilities and attention to detail in financial record‑keeping.
