Director of Sales and Marketing

About the role

The Director of Sales & Marketing will lead the development of innovative strategies that drive revenue growth and strengthen brand positioning for a luxury resort on Barbados’ Platinum Coast.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the hotel’s overall commercial strategy, aligning sales, marketing, events, rooms, and food & beverage initiatives.
• Develop and execute short- and long‑term sales, marketing, and business strategies to achieve revenue goals and grow market share.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and business performance to identify opportunities and adapt strategies.
• Oversee departmental budgeting, forecasting, and execution of key sales programs.
• Build strong relationships with clients, tourism partners, airport and community organizations, and third‑party travel partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, or related field.
• 5+ years experience at Director level in luxury hospitality, preferably in the Caribbean region.
• Established network within the travel trade community and proven ability to exceed sales targets.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team‑building skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel and business systems such as Opera.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office platforms.
• Data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting capabilities.
