Tax Senior Manager

About the role

KPMG in Caricom is hiring Senior Managers for its Tax practice. The role leads and oversees the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services to a portfolio of clients across multiple industries, with a focus on interpreting and applying relevant tax laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic tax advice and practical advisory support on corporate taxation, international taxation, tax structuring, tax-efficient business operations and regulatory compliance.
• Manage complex tax engagements from planning through to completion, aligned with client expectations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Liaise directly with tax authorities on audits, assessments, objections, waivers, appeals and interpretations of tax legislation.
• Conduct tax research on local, regional and international matters, including cross-border transactions.

Required profile

• Minimum of 8 years' relevant tax experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role in a professional services environment.
• Significant experience in tax compliance and advisory services.
• Post-graduate qualification in Taxation and transfer pricing experience are assets.
• Professional accounting or tax qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a Big 4 or international professional services firm is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of tax legislation and regulatory frameworks in the Caribbean region.
• Technical knowledge of corporate and international taxation, indirect and withholding taxes.
• Analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to simplify complex tax concepts.
• Leadership, coaching, people management and client relationship skills.
