Project Engineer Internship

About the role

Join Aecon's Civil East sector as a Project Engineer Intern and work alongside experienced professionals to support project cost management, risk mitigation, and quality standards on complex infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in scheduling work crews and performing site previews and inspections.
• Support inventory management, procurement of specialty materials and tooling, and maintain tool certification records.
• Review weekly equipment utilization reports and correct misallocations.
• Help develop an understanding of project budgets, cost reports, and revenue forecasts.
• Assist senior engineers with technical tasks, design reviews, and preparation of engineering control documents.
• Participate in bids, proposals, basic layout, field engineering activities, and maintain field logs.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical).
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents.
• Strong organizational, communication, and self‑motivation skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
