Private Finance Expert – Renewable Energy Consultant

About the role

The Green Finance Institute (GFI) is seeking an experienced independent consultant to provide capacity‑building support to regional and national banks across the Eastern Caribbean. The focus is on mobilising commercial lending for renewable energy projects, working under a short‑term, part‑time contract.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop practical solutions that enable local banks to credit‑assess renewable energy projects.
• Design and deliver common renewable‑energy project credit training modules for six regional banks.
• Support banks in loan‑application review, credit underwriting, and due‑diligence checklist preparation.
• Promote risk‑mitigation measures to foster a sustainable renewable‑energy financing ecosystem.
• Collaborate with GFI, the World Bank, and other stakeholders to align capacity‑building activities with the Global Clean Power Alliance Finance Mission.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a finance consultant or senior analyst in banking or renewable‑energy financing.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver training and capacity‑building programmes.
• Familiarity with the Eastern Caribbean banking environment is an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently on a remote basis.
