Mechanical Engineer Internship – Project Support

About the role
Aecon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support project teams in delivering complex infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers to assist with design, documentation, and field activities.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare mechanical calculations, bill of materials and basic engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Support plant data gathering, field walkdowns and maintain detailed design documents.
- Assist with planning, sequencing and execution of mechanical activities in line with project schedules.
- Review M&E drawings, specifications and shop drawings to identify conflicts and constructability issues.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- Completed coursework in thermodynamics; power engineering or HVAC preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
