Maintenance Manager – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Maintenance Manager leads the day‑to‑day operations of the hotel’s maintenance and engineering team, ensuring all building systems, equipment and facilities meet luxury hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Maintenance Department to ensure efficient, safe, and uninterrupted hotel operations.
• Maintain hotel facilities in accordance with luxury brand standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate immediate corrective action.
• Oversee and continuously improve the Preventative Maintenance (PM) programme.
• Monitor utility consumption, investigate abnormalities and recommend energy‑conservation initiatives.
• Coordinate maintenance, renovation, landscaping and capital improvement projects, managing contractors and vendors.
• Conduct quality‑assurance inspections before approving completed work.

Required profile

• Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Experience managing preventative maintenance programmes and building management systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration and general building maintenance.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and hotel regulatory requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and building system information.
• Financial awareness with experience managing maintenance budgets and utility costs.
