Junior Aviation Technical Manager

About the role

Sol Aviation is seeking a Junior Aviation Technical Manager to oversee aviation operations across selected Caribbean and South American locations. The role involves guiding airport and marine terminal activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and cost‑efficiency standards, and supporting the regional strategy of the Aviation Department.

Key responsibilities

• Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations, ensuring adherence to Sol Aviation, Shell, and JIG procedures.
• Develop and supervise airport visit plans, coaching Airport Supervisors and related personnel.
• Implement aviation operational standards, HSE and product‑quality programs, and monitor control programs such as assets, cash handling, oil loss, and payment processes.
• Assist in evaluating and coordinating capital‑investment projects and introduce operational efficiencies and new technologies.
• Represent the company at Joint Operations Committees and negotiate contracts, supply and operator agreements with airports and government authorities.
• Prepare and manage the regional budget, focusing on OPEX, other income, training, and CAPEX projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, People & Culture, and Sales.
• Participate in industry forums (IATA, ALTA, JIG) and lead discussions with international entities.

Required profile

• Current Sol staff or external applicants with a strong background in aviation operations.
• Ability to provide functional guidance to affiliates and supervise airport personnel.
• Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and contract negotiation.
• Strong analytical skills to monitor assets, cash handling, and oil loss.
