Junior Aviation Technical Manager

About the role

The Junior Aviation Technical Manager will oversee aviation operations in selected Caribbean and South American locations, providing functional guidance to affiliates and managing airport operations teams. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role ensures compliance with Sol Aviation, Shell, and JIG procedures while driving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations, ensuring adherence to all relevant operating procedures and policies.
• Develop and supervise airport and marine terminal visit plans, coaching Airport Supervisors and related personnel.
• Implement aviation operational standards, HSE and product quality programs, and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Monitor control programs such as assets, cash handling, oil loss, and payment processes.
• Assist in evaluating and coordinating capital investment projects and new technology implementations.
• Represent Sol Aviation in Joint Operations Committees and negotiate contracts, supply agreements, and operator agreements with airports and government authorities.
• Develop regional aviation strategy in collaboration with senior management.
• Support marine terminal product clearance, tank releases, and ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Prepare and manage the budget for the assigned area, focusing on OPEX, other income, training, and CAPEX projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional departments to drive efficiencies and participate in industry forums such as IATA, ALTA, and JIG.
