Junior Aviation Technical Manager

About the role

The Junior Aviation Technical Manager will oversee aviation operations across selected Caribbean and South American locations for Sol Aviation Service Limited. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role provides functional guidance to airport superintendents and supervisors, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and cost‑efficiency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations in line with Sol Aviation, Shell and JIG procedures.
• Develop and supervise airport and marine terminal visit plans, coaching airport supervisors and related staff.
• Implement aviation operational standards, HSE and product quality programs, and monitor control programmes (assets, cash handling, oil loss, payment processes).
• Assist in evaluating and coordinating capital investment projects and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Represent the company in Joint Operations Committees and negotiate contracts, supply and operator agreements with airports and government authorities.
• Support marine terminal product clearance, tank releases and ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Monitor stock levels and supply‑on‑demand (SOD) for assigned markets, collaborating with the Supply Department.
• Prepare and execute the regional budget focusing on OPEX, other income, training and CAPEX projects.
• Interact with cross‑functional teams (operations, engineering, procurement, finance, people & culture, sales) to drive efficiencies.
• Participate in industry forums such as IATA, ALTA and JIG, and present financial results at JO meetings.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in aviation or airport operations management, preferably within the Caribbean or South America.
• Strong understanding of HSE, product quality and cost‑control principles.
• Proven ability to lead and coach multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with external stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with experience in budgeting, financial reporting and capital project evaluation.
