Graduate Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Join Aecon's Civil East sector as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, working alongside experienced professionals to support mechanical scopes across infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support mechanical scopes of work across facilities and system interfaces.
• Assist with planning, sequencing, and execution of mechanical activities in line with project schedules.
• Review M&E drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and RFIs to identify conflicts and constructability issues.
• Work with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical and coordination issues.
• Track and report progress of mechanical installations, inspections, and deficiencies.
• Support testing, commissioning, and system turnover activities, including documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:2 or higher preferred).
• Full driver’s license preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Flexibility to work in both field and office environments.

Required skills

• Understanding of mechanical systems, engineered tools/equipment, and automated systems.
• Ability to review and interpret M&E drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Experience with coordination of mechanical and electrical inspections.
