Quantity Surveyor – Construction Projects

About the role

Aecon is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Civil East sector in the Caribbean. You will work with experienced professionals to manage project costs, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in compiling tender packages for subcontract and self‑perform trades and analyse work packages to develop commercial summaries.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors, issue subcontract orders, and review subcontract performance against contract conditions.
• Perform quantity take‑offs using On‑Screen Take‑Off software to create Bills of Quantities, assess subcontract claims and variations.
• Manage change control processes, support budget tracking, and prepare monthly financial forecasts and client applications.
• Review, value and certify subcontract monthly payment applications and assist in final account preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction surveying.
• Strong attention to detail, planning and organisational abilities.
• Professional membership of CIQS, PQS, RICS or working towards designation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with On‑Screen Take‑Off software for quantity take‑offs.
• Experience in tender package preparation, subcontract negotiation and commercial risk assessment.
