Junior Aviation Technical Manager

About the role

The Junior Aviation Technical Manager will oversee aviation operations across selected Caribbean and South American locations for Sol Aviation Services. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role provides functional guidance to affiliates and supervises airport superintendents and supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations, ensuring compliance with Sol Aviation, Shell, and JIG procedures.
• Develop and manage airport and marine terminal visit plans, coaching airport supervisors.
• Implement aviation operational standards, HSE, product quality programs, and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Monitor control programs for assets, cash handling, oil loss, and payment processes.
• Assist in evaluating and coordinating capital investment projects and new technologies.
• Represent the company in Joint Operations Committees and negotiate contracts with airports and government authorities.
• Develop regional aviation strategy in collaboration with senior management.
• Support marine terminal product clearance, stock monitoring, and supply coordination.
• Prepare and execute OPEX‑focused budgets, manage other income, training, and CAPEX projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Sales.
• Participate in industry forums such as IATA, ALTA, and JIG.

Required profile

• Junior‑level professional with experience in aviation or airport operations.
• Ability to supervise airport superintendents and supervisors across multiple markets.
• Strong understanding of aviation safety, HSE, and product quality standards.
• Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and monitoring operational performance.
• Proven capability to negotiate contracts and represent the company in joint committees.
• Willingness to travel within the Caribbean and South America region.
