Junior Aviation Technical Manager

About the role

Sol Aviation Services Limited is seeking a Junior Aviation Technical Manager to oversee aviation operations across selected Caribbean and South American locations. The role reports to the Regional Manager and provides functional guidance to airport superintendents and supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations, ensuring compliance with Sol Aviation, Shell, and JIG procedures.
• Develop and supervise airport and marine terminal visit plans, coaching airport supervisors and related staff.
• Implement aviation operational standards, HSE and product quality programs, and drive cost‑efficiency.
• Monitor control programs covering assets, cash handling, oil loss, and payment processes.
• Assist in evaluating and coordinating capital investment projects and new technology implementations.
• Represent Sol Aviation interests at Joint Operations Committees and negotiate contracts, supply and operator agreements with airports and government authorities.
• Develop regional aviation strategy in collaboration with senior management.
• Support marine terminal product clearance, tank releases, and ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Oversee stock and SOD monitoring, liaise with the Supply Department to guarantee safe, on‑spec supply.
• Prepare and execute the OPEX, CAPEX, training, and other income budgets for the assigned area.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, People & Culture, and Sales.
• Participate in industry forums such as IATA, ALTA, and JIG, and present financial results at JO meetings.

Required profile

• Current Sol staff or external applicants with experience in aviation or airport operations.
• Ability to lead and supervise airport superintendents and supervisors.
• Strong understanding of aviation safety, HSE, and product quality standards.
• Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and contract negotiation.
• Willingness to travel within the Caribbean and South America region.
