Junior Aviation Technical Manager

About the role

The Junior Aviation Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing aviation operations in selected Caribbean and South American locations. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role provides functional guidance to affiliates and supervises Airport Superintendents and Airport Supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations, ensuring compliance with Sol Aviation, Shell, and JIG procedures.
• Develop and manage airport and marine terminal visit plans, coaching Airport Supervisors.
• Implement aviation operational standards, HSE and product‑quality programs, and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Monitor control programmes such as assets, cash handling, oil loss, and payment processes.
• Assist in evaluating and implementing capital‑investment projects and new technologies.
• Review, negotiate and manage contracts, supply agreements and operator agreements with airports and government authorities.
• Develop regional aviation strategy in collaboration with GM/RM and support marine‑terminal product clearance.
• Prepare and execute OPEX‑focused budgets, track stocks and coordinate with the Supply Department.
• Interact with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, People & Culture, Sales) to drive efficiencies.
• Represent the company in industry forums (IATA, ALTA, JIG) and lead financial performance discussions at Joint Operations meetings.

Required profile

• Junior‑level professional with experience in aviation or airport operations.
• Strong analytical, organizational and coaching abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to travel across assigned Caribbean and South American markets.

Required skills

• Knowledge of aviation operating procedures and HSE/product‑quality standards.
• Experience with budgeting, financial monitoring and control programmes.
• Ability to negotiate contracts and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Familiarity with industry bodies such as IATA, ALTA and JIG.
