Project Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Corporate Project Engineer will support Sol markets in planning, developing and executing terminals, retail and commercial infrastructure projects safely, on time and within budget. This role works closely with internal stakeholders such as RMs, GMs, Operations Managers, Accounting, Sourcing and Legal.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HSE initiatives, demonstrating a culture of safety and care across all projects and stakeholders.
• Plan, design and execute infrastructure projects through contractors, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget compliance.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from scoping, FEED budgeting, tender preparation, bidding, procurement to execution and hand‑over.
• Determine material and equipment specifications and prepare tender documents in liaison with Sourcing.
• Oversee CAPEX budgets, track project costs, approve contractor invoices and ensure proper asset categorisation with Accounting.
• Conduct technical facilities and equipment audits at depots and during customer inspections.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Industrial).
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in the petroleum industry.
• Strong contract management, negotiation and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively, present professionally and work both autonomously and within cross‑functional teams.
• Desire to attain professional engineer membership and a growth‑mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
• Experience with engineering‑specific budgeting, contract and procurement tools.
• Skilled in contract management and negotiations.
