Project Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Corporate Project Engineer will support Sol markets by planning, developing and executing terminals, retail and commercial infrastructure projects safely, on time and within budget. This role works closely with internal stakeholders such as RMs, GMs, Operations Managers, Accounting, Sourcing and Legal.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HSE initiatives, demonstrating a culture of safety across all projects and stakeholders.
• Plan, design and manage infrastructure projects from scoping, budgeting (FEED), tendering, procurement through to execution and hand‑over.
• Prepare and evaluate tender documents, liaise with Sourcing and manage contractor relationships.
• Control CAPEX budgets, track project costs, approve invoices and ensure proper asset categorisation.
• Conduct technical audits of facilities and equipment at depots and during customer inspections.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Industrial).
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in the petroleum industry.
• Strong contract management, negotiation and time‑management abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication, with professional presentation skills.
• Desire to achieve professional engineer membership and a growth mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience with MS Project.
• Use of engineering‑specific tools for budgeting, contract management, procurement and project execution.
