Junior Aviation Technical Manager

About the role

The Junior Aviation Technical Manager will oversee aviation operations across selected Caribbean and South American locations. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role combines operational stewardship, staff supervision, and strategic planning to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant airport and marine terminal activities.

Key responsibilities

• Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations, ensuring compliance with Sol Aviation, Shell, and JIG procedures.
• Develop and manage airport and marine terminal visit plans, providing coaching and supervision to Airport Supervisors.
• Implement aviation operational standards, HSE and product‑quality programs, and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Monitor control programs for assets, cash handling, oil loss, and payment processes.
• Assist in evaluating and coordinating capital‑investment projects and new technology implementations.
• Represent the company in Joint Operations Committees and negotiate contracts with airports and government authorities.
• Support marine terminal product clearance, tank releases, and stock monitoring in collaboration with the Supply Department.
• Prepare and execute the regional budget focusing on OPEX, other income, training, and CAPEX projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Sales.
• Participate in industry forums such as IATA, ALTA, and JIG, and present financial results at JO meetings.

Required profile

• Experience in aviation operations management within airport or marine terminal environments.
• Ability to supervise and coach Airport Supervisors and related personnel.
• Strong knowledge of HSE and product‑quality standards.
• Proven budgeting, financial reporting, and cost‑control expertise.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts, supply agreements, and operator agreements.
• Effective communication with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
