Senior Procurement Specialist (12‑month contract)

About the role

The Senior Procurement Specialist will lead the development, implementation and administration of less complex supplies and services contracts for a banking and financial services organisation in Barbados. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the role ensures procurement activities align with business objectives while managing risk and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and manage negotiations for local, less complex supply and services contracts in line with company policies and service‑level agreements.
• Conduct due‑diligence on new and existing contracts, reviewing terms, identifying non‑compliant clauses and escalating concerns.
• Review procurement processes, perform cost‑benefit analyses and feasibility studies to identify efficiency gains and cost savings.
• Provide data‑informed recommendations to strengthen supplier performance and align sourcing with business goals.
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and third‑party risk management policies.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders, conduct needs analyses and guide them through the sourcing process.
• Assess supplier performance, recommend renegotiations, vendor changes or service improvements.
• Present data‑driven insights to senior management and suppliers to support transparent negotiations.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of procurement experience, including contract negotiation and sourcing.
