Chief Engineer

About the role

As the Chief Engineer you will be the guardian of the hotel’s physical environment, ensuring every guest experiences a safe, functional and welcoming space. You will lead the engineering team, uphold Hilton’s hospitality standards, and drive continuous improvement across all facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and functionality of guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Ensure compliance with local legal requirements and Hilton engineering policies.
• Keep an up‑to‑date status file for licenses, inspections, certificates and contracts.
• Lead, equip and support the POMEC team in daily operations.
• Organise training and development for all engineering staff.
• Respond promptly to guest calls and internal work orders.
• Oversee repairs and maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and masonry.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and document all activities.
• Manage work orders to guarantee timely completion.
• Promote and monitor the hotel’s Energy Conservation Plan.
• Monitor the quality of work performed by subcontractors.
