Junior IT Technician

About the role

Ocean Hotels Barbados is seeking a Junior IT Technician to provide technical support across its hotel operations. The role involves maintaining network hardware, assisting end‑users, and ensuring reliable IT services for both guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for data, internet, camera, VOIP, and sound network hardware.
• Deliver first‑level support and limited training for property management, maintenance, inventory, POS, payroll applications, and Microsoft products.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on computers, printers, and other network devices.
• Maintain cabling infrastructure and perform basic network administration.
• Offer after‑hours and weekend support when required.

Required profile

• Residency in Barbados with a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar IT support role.
• Team‑oriented with strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Required skills

• A+ Certification.
• Network+ Certification.
• Experience with helpdesk or maintenance applications.
• Proficiency in operating systems, computer hardware, networking, and hardware/software configuration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for computer problems and cabling infrastructure.
• Basic network administration and familiarity with Microsoft products.
