BMW High Voltage Certified Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced BMW High Voltage Certified Technician to join our service team in Barbados. You will work in a BMW‑approved facility, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing high‑voltage battery systems, electric drive units and power electronics for BMW’s expanding EV and PHEV lineup.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance and complex repairs on high‑voltage battery packs, electric motor units, wiring and power electronics.
• Execute de‑energisation, testing, lock‑out procedures and re‑energisation following BMW safety guidelines.
• Use BMW ISTA software and specialised HV measuring tools to isolate software and hardware faults.
• Carry out routine service, software updates and mechanical repairs on both electrified and traditional ICE BMW vehicles.
• Maintain strict compliance with high‑voltage safety protocols, PPE requirements and dealership standards.
• Inspect, certify and maintain insulated tools, gloves and safety barriers before each job.
• Document findings, work performed and recommendations on repair orders and communicate with Service Advisors.
• Mentor apprentice technicians on safe high‑voltage practices and stay current with BMW EV training.

Required profile

• Official BMW High Voltage Expert (HVE) certification.
• 3–5 years as an automotive technician with 1–2 years dedicated to high‑voltage/EV repair; BMW dealership experience required.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
• Preferred: BMW Master Technician status or BMW Gen 6 training.
