Automotive Technician – Vehicle Maintenance & Diagnostics

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Automotive Technician to join our workshop in Wildey, Barbados. The successful candidate will perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, ensuring all work meets manufacturer standards and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and test vehicles, performing routine servicing and diagnosing worn parts.
• Identify and resolve electrical issues and customer complaints using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer manuals.
• Carry out repairs on work orders, dismantling faulty components and replacing damaged parts.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment through regular preventive maintenance.
• Interpret manufacturer schematics to trace and fault‑find electrical systems, including EV and hybrid vehicles.

Required profile

• Minimum five CXC passes including English and Mathematics.
• City & Guilds certificate or equivalent in motor vehicle engineering.
• At least three years of relevant experience is an asset.
• Valid manual Barbados driver’s licence and police certificate of character.

Required skills

• Vehicle diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
• Electrical fault diagnosis and repair.
• Experience with EV and hybrid vehicle systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and interpreting manufacturer specifications.
