About the role
GM Group Inc. is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team in Saint James, Barbados. This full‑time, on‑site position supports day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.
Key responsibilities
- Record financial transactions, maintain journals and ledgers.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing.
- Reconcile bank statements and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
- Prepare basic financial reports and documentation for audits and compliance.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries and collaborate with other departments.
Required profile
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; certifications are a plus.
- Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficiency with accounting software.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Competence in Microsoft Word.
