Accountant

About the role

Bayview Hospital is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to support the efficient management of its financial operations. The role provides analytical and administrative support to the Head of Finance so that sound financial and business decisions can be made.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger, prepare journal entries and reconcile all accounts on time.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash and fixed asset records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts, financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial analysis.
• Prepare and support statutory filings, tax returns and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing and support external audits.
• Ensure financial records are accurate, comply with accounting standards and company policies, and maintain internal controls.
• Improve accounting processes, reporting systems and operational efficiency.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, regulators and banks, and help the Head of Finance deal with auditors and other external parties.
• Support special projects and other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• ACCA, CGA, CPA or equivalent qualification preferred; candidates actively pursuing a recognised qualification with accounting experience will be considered.
• Excellent command of English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Sage or another accounting software.
• Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
