Private Finance Expert – Consultant

About the role

The Green Finance Institute (GFI) is seeking an experienced private finance expert to provide part‑time, home‑based consultancy support to banks across the Eastern Caribbean. The consultant will help mobilise commercial lending for renewable‑energy projects, working from October 2026 to October 2027 with a possible extension.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the current capacity of regional and national banks to finance renewable‑energy projects.
• Design and deliver common credit‑training modules for up to six banks.
• Develop practical tools such as loan‑application review guides, credit‑underwriting checklists, and due‑diligence frameworks.
• Facilitate workshops and one‑on‑one coaching sessions with bank credit officers.
• Provide recommendations to improve risk‑mitigation practices and create a sustainable renewable‑energy financing ecosystem.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an independent finance consultant or senior analyst.
• Strong background in renewable‑energy project finance and bank credit assessment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a multi‑country context.
• Excellent communication skills for training delivery and stakeholder engagement.
