Payroll Coordinator

About the role

The Payroll Coordinator ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. Working closely with the Payroll Supervisor and People & Culture team, this role maintains compliance with local regulations and supports staff with payroll‑related queries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, submit and analyse payroll data to meet established deadlines and standards.
• Record all payroll accounting entries promptly and accurately.
• Reconcile payroll accounts, addressing any outstanding items within 30 days.
• Stay current on regulatory requirements for each territory and ensure full compliance.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required payroll documentation.
• Verify that payroll authorisations follow the Authority Matrix.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll records.
• Provide backup support to other payroll personnel as needed.
• Conduct periodic validation audits on personnel records.
• Coordinate with the People & Culture department to keep employee data up‑to‑date in the payroll system.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 CAPE certificates, one in Accounting, plus 3 years relevant experience; or an Associate Degree in Accounting; or a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CGA, AAT) with 3 years experience; or a University degree in Accounting.
• Strong understanding of payroll principles, procedures and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
