About the role
We are looking for a Junior Aviation Technical Manager to oversee aviation operations across selected Caribbean and South American locations. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will guide airport superintendents and supervisors, ensuring compliance with Sol Aviation, Shell and JIG procedures while driving operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations, ensuring adherence to all applicable Sol Aviation, Shell and JIG operating procedures and policies.
- Develop and manage airport and local marine terminal visit plans, providing coaching and supervision to Airport Supervisors and related personnel.
- Implement aviation operational standards, HSE and product quality programs, and promote cost‑efficiency.
- Monitor control programs covering assets, cash handling, oil loss and payment processes.
- Assist in evaluating and coordinating the implementation of capital investment projects.
- Identify and implement operational efficiencies and new technologies.
- Represent the company’s interests before Joint Operations Committees and negotiate contracts, supply and operator agreements with airport and government authorities.
- Develop regional aviation strategy in collaboration with GM/RM.
- Support marine terminal product clearance, tank releases and ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Supply Department to guarantee safe, on‑spec supply.
- Prepare and execute OPEX, CAPEX, training and other income budgets for the assigned area.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional departments including Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, People & Culture and Sales.
- Participate in industry forums such as IATA, ALTA and JIG, representing Sol at the highest standard.
- Lead financial performance discussions at JO meetings and drive operational side of negotiations with international entities.
Required profile
- Proven experience in aviation or airport operations within Caribbean or South American markets.
- Ability to provide functional guidance to airport superintendents and supervisors.
- Strong understanding of HSE, product quality and cost‑efficiency practices.
- Experience monitoring control programs and supporting capital project implementation.
- Skilled in reviewing and negotiating contracts with airport and government entities.
- Capability to develop regional strategies and manage operational budgets.
- Effective communication with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
- Active participation in industry forums and joint operations committees.
