Consultor/a en Efectividad del Desarrollo y Gestión de Operaciones

About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (Grupo BID) is seeking a dynamic consultant to support the effectiveness of development and operations management across its project portfolio. The role will provide strategic, technical, and operational assistance to project teams, ensuring high‑quality design, execution, and closure of operations in line with institutional priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and strengthen project documents (e.g., PODs, technical cooperation agreements) to ensure technical consistency.
• Enhance theories of change, results matrices, and indicators, promoting sound intervention logic and measurement.
• Contribute to the evaluability of operations and alignment with development effectiveness standards.
• Participate in corporate quality‑review and approval processes, including SPD and OVE reviews.
• Provide technical support during design, review, and approval stages of operations.
• Support monitoring of ongoing operations, preparing and reviewing Progress Monitoring Reports (PMRs).
• Identify risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities, proposing adjustments to improve performance.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing Project Completion Reports (PCRs) and re‑evaluation analyses.
• Systematize evidence, results, and lessons learned for knowledge‑management purposes.
• Facilitate coordination between operational teams and corporate units and support strategic initiatives related to development effectiveness.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics, public policy, statistics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in projects funded by multilateral organizations or the public sector.
• Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken); additional knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
• Citizenship of one of the 48 member countries of the organization.
