Planning Manager

About the role

The Planning Manager will lead the demand‑driven production planning process for Gildan’s North American hosiery business. Reporting to corporate planning, you will ensure cost‑effective schedules that meet sales forecasts and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Demand Solutions Requirement Planning (DSRP) tool from the master schedule to generate the lowest‑cost production plan.
• Identify service and availability gaps across retail, sales and customer service using DSRP data.
• Develop capacity‑tested production schedules that achieve target inventory levels.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and corporate planning to validate feasibility of production plans and monitor execution.
• Track shipments versus forecast, resolve discrepancies with Sales/Forecasting, and communicate timelines with distribution.
• Report projected inventory excesses or shortfalls to Sales and create corrective action plans.
• Present weekly customer account summaries and support new‑product launches with time‑and‑action plans.
• Maintain vendor relationships for North American hosiery suppliers, handling schedule adherence, compliance and cost negotiations.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet business objectives.

Required profile

• University degree.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with managerial responsibility (or 10 years without management).
• Broad understanding of manufacturing operations and how other business functions interact.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and experience executing operational business plans.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Demand Solutions Requirement Planning (DSRP) software.
