Manager, Inventory and Production Planning

About the role

The Manager, Inventory and Production Planning is responsible for overseeing North American hosiery vendor relationships and ensuring production schedules meet sales forecasts while maintaining cost efficiency. This role coordinates between manufacturing, corporate planning, and distribution to achieve optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Demand Solutions Requirement Planning (DSRP) tool to develop low‑cost production plans aligned with sales forecasts.
• Identify service and availability issues across retail, sales, and customer service using DSRP insights.
• Create capacity‑tested production schedules that meet inventory targets and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and corporate planning to validate feasibility of production plans and monitor execution.
• Track shipments versus forecasts, address discrepancies with Sales/Forecasting, and communicate timelines with distribution.
• Report projected inventory excesses or shortfalls to Sales and develop corrective action plans.
• Present weekly customer account summaries and support new product launches with time‑and‑action plans.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet business needs.

Required profile

• University degree.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant managerial experience (or 10 years of relevant experience).
• Broad knowledge of specialized operational areas and understanding of cross‑functional business impact.
• Experience solving complex operational problems and leading high‑complexity projects.
• Strong leadership, planning, and resource management abilities.
• Effective communication skills to interpret business challenges and recommend best practices.
