Group Finance Director – Insurance & Investments

About the role

The Group Finance Director will lead financial management across the Group’s insurance, investment, asset‑management and other financial‑services businesses. Reporting to the Group CFO, this senior leader will provide strategic financial insight to the CEO, Board and shareholders, ensuring strong performance, regulatory compliance and disciplined capital management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead group‑wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
• Oversee consolidated reporting, statutory accounts and management accounts for all subsidiaries.
• Drive FP&A, profitability analysis, cost optimisation and financial performance improvement.
• Manage insurance finance functions including premium revenue, claims, reserves and underwriting profitability.
• Supervise investment and asset‑management accounting, valuation and performance reporting.
• Support capital planning, solvency, liquidity and balance‑sheet management.
• Oversee treasury, cash management, funding requirements and working‑capital optimisation.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance policies and risk‑management frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, insurance and investment regulations.
• Provide financial analysis for M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments and restructuring.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives such as ERP implementation, automation and advanced analytics.
• Develop and mentor Finance Directors, Controllers and senior finance teams across the Group.

Required profile

• 15–20+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably within insurance, investment or asset‑management sectors.
• Proven track record of leading large, complex finance organisations.
• Strong understanding of regulatory, capital and risk requirements in financial services.
• Experience advising C‑suite executives, boards and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance improvement and transformation.
