Director of Sales and Marketing

About the role

Fairmont Royal Pavilion, a 75-room luxury resort on Barbados' Platinum Coast, is looking for a Director of Sales and Marketing. You will lead the development of strategies that drive revenue growth and strengthen brand positioning, combining strong sales expertise with strategic marketing insight and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the hotel's overall commercial strategy, aligning sales, marketing, events, rooms and food and beverage initiatives to drive revenue.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term sales, marketing and business strategies to meet revenue goals and grow market share.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and business performance to adapt strategies as needed.
• Oversee departmental budgeting, forecasting and the execution of key sales programs.
• Build strong relationships with clients, tourism partners, airport and community organisations and third-party travel partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience at director level or at a luxury hotel.
• Experience representing and selling luxury hospitality brands in the region and the Caribbean.
• An established network in the travel trade with credible client relationships.
• Proven leadership experience in hotel sales and marketing, with a collaborative style focused on coaching and mentoring.
• Experience in hospitality, tourism or a related industry, with a solid understanding of commercial strategy and revenue management.

Required skills

• Comfortable working with data, forecasting and budgets.
• Tech-savvy use of hotel and business systems, including Opera and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, partners, media and team members.
