Customer Service & Compliance Officer (Barbados)

About the role

The GraceKennedy Financial Group is seeking a motivated individual in Barbados to join GK Life Insurance as a Customer Service and Compliance Officer. This dual‑focused position blends client onboarding, service excellence, and regulatory compliance across several Caribbean territories.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct product demonstrations and training for new customers and partners in Barbados.
• Gather and analyse customer/partner requirements, tailoring products accordingly.
• Coordinate with sales and technical teams to ensure smooth onboarding and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and transactions in line with internal and external standards.
• Monitor customer success, suggest product improvements, and support operational onboarding processes.
• Manage AML/CFT/CPF compliance programmes for St Maarten, Anguilla, Grenada, Bahamas, and Guyana, acting as Compliance Officer, MLRO, and MLCO.
• Develop and maintain compliance matrices, policies, and monitoring programmes.
• Create and deliver AML/CFT training, conduct compliance testing, and track corrective action plans.
• Prepare quarterly compliance reports for governance forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Risk/Compliance or a related field.
• At least three (3) years of experience in internal audit, finance, accounting, or operations within the financial sector.
• Experience in second‑line compliance, specifically AML/CFT/CPF requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated sound judgement, confidentiality, and high ethical standards.
