Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager will ensure accurate recording, reporting and analysis of Gildan’s business transactions. Working closely with the Controller and finance teams, you will maintain robust accounting processes and controls across the corporate accounting function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and adjustments for key ledger accounts.
• Record and reconcile intercompany charges and balances each month.
• Lead accounting process improvement initiatives within the Corporate Accounting group.
• Maintain the fixed‑assets subledger, track capital projects and produce related reports.
• Ensure accuracy of cash, AR, AP, prepaid expenses, accruals, leases, revenue and other critical accounts.
• Manage timely accounting and reporting of financial results to meet internal and external deadlines.
• Support month‑end close activities, balance‑sheet reviews, supplemental schedules and SOX‑compliant controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• CPA or Chartered Accountant designation preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities, capable of handling high‑volume tasks under tight deadlines.
• Proven experience with ERP systems, accounting applications and Business Intelligence tools.
