Security Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure environment at our luxury resort on Barbados’ Platinum Coast. The role involves overseeing security procedures, guiding the security team, and ensuring the protection of guests, staff, and property.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coaching, counselling and supervision to security officers to maintain professional standards.
• Conduct regular patrols, inspections and access‑control checks throughout the hotel premises.
• Monitor CCTV and other security equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies, preparing detailed incident reports.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and security regulations across the property.

Required profile

• High School Education with at least three CXC certificates.
• Minimum three years’ experience in security or a related field.
• Valid Security Officer licence or equivalent qualification.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within three months).
• Physical fitness to perform regular patrols and respond to emergencies.

Required skills

• Operation of CCTV monitoring systems.
• Access‑control system management.
• Use of security equipment such as alarms and metal detectors.
• First aid and CPR proficiency.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
