Duty Maintenance Manager – Barbados

About the role

British Airways is seeking a Duty Maintenance Manager to lead a station or shift at its Barbados (BGI) base. Reporting to the Station Manager, you will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient line‑maintenance operations while driving cultural and behavioural change aligned with corporate values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cultural and behavioural initiatives to support BA’s premium airline vision.
• Manage manned and agency stations against quality, cost, delivery and colleague metrics.
• Deliver cross‑regional projects that support global line‑maintenance objectives.
• Strengthen third‑party and internal customer partnerships to improve revenue.
• Provide operational support on stations, including shift work as required.
• Oversee agency and third‑party interfaces and ensure compliance with BA, customer, EASA, CAA and FAA standards.
• Achieve operational, safety, quality and financial targets for the assigned area.
• Define and lead regional strategic plans, focusing on growth and succession.
• Continuously improve line‑maintenance practices and facilities to boost productivity and financial performance.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of British Airways operations and the ability to develop actionable plans.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills, capable of driving change.
• Experience managing diverse, multicultural teams and willingness to travel as needed.
• Excellent diagnostic and repair abilities with a professional appearance in customer‑facing environments.
• Significant aircraft maintenance experience, preferably in a union environment.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.

Required skills

• B1 UK Part‑66 licence (or local equivalent).
• B1 type approvals for aircraft such as B777 and B787.
• Advanced diagnostic and repair skills on aircraft systems.
