Telephone Operator (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Telephone Operator will support AffinityPlus Credit Union by handling inbound and outbound calls, routing callers to the appropriate department, and providing accurate information about products and services. This part‑time position plays a key role in converting inquiries into member opportunities while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the PBX system to answer, route, and place calls, manage voicemail and email communications, and schedule appointments.
• Follow approved scripts to inform members about products, upsell services, and encourage registrations.
• Identify customer needs, research issues, provide solutions, and follow up as required.
• Maintain operational databases, call logs, switchboard directories, and generate related reports.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, mailing correspondence, and ensuring document accuracy.
• Keep telephone equipment functional, report maintenance needs, and adhere to policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Secondary school completion with strong English, Mathematics, and business subjects or a recognized secretarial/administrative certification.
• Knowledge of credit union or financial industry regulations is an asset.
• Formal training in administrative management or related fields is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, follow directions, maintain accurate records, and work independently.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and professional appearance.
