Maintenance Manager – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Maintenance Manager leads the day‑to‑day operations of the engineering team at Fairmont Royal Pavilion, ensuring all building systems, equipment and facilities meet luxury hospitality standards. This role combines preventive and corrective maintenance, project coordination and contractor management to deliver a seamless guest and colleague experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Maintenance Department to guarantee safe, uninterrupted hotel functions.
• Maintain facilities in line with luxury brand standards and local regulations.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate corrective actions.
• Manage and continuously improve the Preventative Maintenance (PM) programme.
• Monitor and analyse electricity, water, gas and other utility consumption, implementing corrective measures and energy‑saving initiatives.
• Coordinate renovation, landscaping and capital‑improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
• Supervise contractors and vendors, conduct quality‑assurance inspections and approve completed work.
• Assist in planning and executing refurbishment and property‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hotel engineering or facilities‑maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort.
• Proven experience managing preventive‑maintenance programmes and building‑management systems.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and hotel regulatory requirements.
• Financial awareness with experience managing maintenance budgets and utility costs.
