Junior Aviation Technical Manager

About the role

The Junior Aviation Technical Manager will oversee aviation operations across selected Caribbean and South American markets, reporting to the Regional Manager. The role provides functional guidance to airport affiliates and ensures compliance with Sol Aviation, Shell and JIG procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Stewardship of affiliate aviation operations, ensuring adherence to all applicable Sol Aviation, Shell and JIG operating procedures and policies.
• Develop and manage airport and local marine terminal visit plans, coaching Airport Supervisors and related personnel.
• Implement aviation operational standards, HSE and product‑quality programs, and drive cost‑efficiency.
• Monitor control programmes covering assets, cash handling, oil loss and payment processes.
• Assist in evaluating and coordinating capital‑investment projects and operational efficiencies.
• Represent the company in Joint Operations Committees and negotiate contracts, supply and operator agreements with airports and government authorities.
• Develop regional aviation strategy in partnership with GM/RM and support marine‑terminal product clearance and tank releases.
• Prepare and execute OPEX‑focused budgets, manage other income, training and CAPEX projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, People & Culture, Sales) to ensure efficiencies.
• Participate in industry forums (IATA, ALTA, JIG) and lead operational discussions with international entities.

Required profile

• Junior‑level experience in aviation or airport operations.
• Ability to supervise Airport Superintendents and Supervisors across multiple markets.
• Strong understanding of HSE, product‑quality standards and cost‑control measures.
• Experience preparing budgets, financial reporting and monitoring key performance indicators.
• Effective communication skills for internal collaboration and external stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to travel within the Caribbean and South American regions as required.
