Internal Audit Lead

About the role

We are seeking an Internal Audit Lead to drive the internal audit program for a designated country. The role ensures comprehensive coverage of financial, operational, technological and fraud risks while maintaining independence and audit quality.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and oversee the Country Audit Plan, addressing material risks across finance, operations, technology and fraud.
• Lead and participate in audits from planning to reporting, delivering solid evidence, conclusions and actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate and supervise the local audit team, ensuring adherence to methodology and effective use of corporate audit tools.
• Escalate significant control deficiencies, breakdowns and fraud risks promptly to Country Management and the Internal Audit Lead.
• Present audit findings to senior management, providing visibility into the control environment and remediation commitments.
• Monitor corrective action plans to guarantee timely and sustainable remediation of critical risks.
• Collaborate with specialized audit teams (IT, Portfolio & Inventory, Analytics, Fraud, Methodology) to enhance audit quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Business Administration or related field.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Business or Risk Management (preferred).
• 4–7 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management or compliance.
• Proven experience leading complex audits, preferably in retail or consumer finance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IIA Standards / IPPF.
• Understanding of COSO and Enterprise Risk Management frameworks.
• Familiarity with IFRS and financial statement analysis.
• Portfolio & Inventory auditing expertise.
• AML and regulatory compliance awareness.
• Experience with audit management systems (TeamMate, AuditBoard).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle or equivalent).
• Data analytics tools (Power BI or similar).
