Insurance Administrator

About the role

The Insurance Administrator will support day‑to‑day insurance operations at Shawn Hope Insurance Brokers Inc., based in Christ Church, Barbados. This full‑time position handles applications, policy changes, renewals, cancellations, and client inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely service.

Key responsibilities

• Process new insurance applications, policy amendments, renewals and cancellations.
• Maintain and update client records and documentation.
• Coordinate with insurance providers to ensure correct policy handling.
• Respond to client inquiries and provide information on coverage options.
• Assist with claims submissions, follow‑up and status tracking.
• Track payments, manage organized filing systems, and support the sales and finance teams.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting processes and basic risk management.
• Understanding of billing, payment tracking and basic financial documentation.
• Ability to work with an insurance software program.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation with clear communication.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
• Experience in office administration or an insurance brokerage is an asset.
